Performance Augmentation of the Flat Plate Solar Thermal Collector: A Review

The need for hot water in residential buildings requires a significant energy potential. Therefore, an efficient heating system is important to achieve the goal of saving high-grade energy. most simple and cheapest solar heater flat plate collector (FPSC), which can increase thermal fluid by absorbing radiation. performance FPSC comparatively low due dilute nature insolation. advancement being undertaken improve size reduction. In past, several techniques have been exploited FPSC, are presented present paper. These include surface modifications, use nanofluids, selective coating, applications mini/macro channel, heat pipe, vacuum around absorber. Surface modification on absorber/absorber tube transfer maximum possible working fluids increasing rate. Insertion wire mesh, coil, twisted tapes flow has great potential Nusselt number 460% at expense large pressure drop. Selective coating Cu0.44 Ti0.44 Mn0.84 helps absorb up 97.4% incident energy, more significant. Many nanofluids as fluids, they not only but also reduce inventory. So, these play very prominent role discussed detail. Summaries results recommendations proposed.
